We are currently looking for instructors to join our team on a casual basis.
Your job will be to present fun, interactive incursions to primary school students throughout Melbourne on topics including democracy, science, economics and more. Don't worry if you don't know the content of our incursions, because full training will be provided.
Students love our hands-on, activity-filled incursions and your visit to their school will be the highlight of their week! We provide all the resources and equipment for you to take into the classroom to run up to three sessions per day. A typical week for you could include conducting a mock election with grade 6s one day, building Lego cars with grade 3s the next, then operating a marketplace to demonstrate supply and demand for grade 5s after that. You’ll teach students of all year levels, from all backgrounds and areas across Melbourne.
Unlike the unpredictability of CRT work, your schedule will be organised well in advance, and some days you’ll even get an early finish. Plus, you’ll have no reports, no staff meetings, no yard duty. Just teaching!
Experience and abilities required
Primary school classroom teaching experience (preferred).
Current teacher registration or Working With Children Check.
Excellent verbal communication with the ability to present to groups of up to 35 children.
Ability to store incursion equipment at home.
Ability to travel to various locations across the Melbourne metropolitan area. Your own transport will be required for this role.
